Age of Ancients

What's up Super-People!

I'm very happy to announce the first book in my new series: Shattered Kingdoms, which will be up for pre-order on January 22nd and releasing the 27th.

Age of Ancients takes place in the same world as Rise to Omniscience, only 10,000 years before Morgan's story begins.

You'll recognize the same system that made RTO so great, but with a unique character and more rigid rules on how Energy and stats are assigned.

The story will have a Stone Age feel, with tons of nasty beasties, new villains and a story that Alpha Readers could not put down (not so humble brag 😂).

I'll be sending out Advance Reader Copies on January 18th to anyone who will leave a review on release day. I won't demand that you only leave 5-star reviews (though they are very much preferred and will make me a happy boy) but the ARC copies will be sent out on those terms.

If you participate in the ARC read, you will be credited by name at the back of book (woohoo!) and be forever immortalized.

To anyone who's interested in receiving one, just shoot me an email on my website 😄.

Spreading the word about this new and awesome series will also be much appreciated.

Have an awesome day and keep being super!

2021 Patreon Changes

What's up, Super-People!

As the year comes to a close, I would like to thank each and every one of you for being Patrons and supporting my work. I've thoroughly enjoyed this year, and all of you have only made it better. I've thought about the changes for next year, and I'll be outlining them below.

Firstly, I'll be changing the price of the Beta Tier from $8 to $5 (the same as my eBooks). This way, anyone wishing to support me here instead of Amazon, can get early access to the unedited version of the book. I don't have much time to do artwork anymore, so when the book is released, an edited version will be made available as well to download for all those who are part of the Tier. Everything else will still apply (early access, credit in the books for participating, etc...).

Secondly, I'll be adding another Tier for those wishing to speak with me directly. It's going to be limited to 5 people a month and cost $100. In this Tier, I'll be hosting a 60-minute Zoom call once a month for those who join. Again, it will be limited, and although I can't disable the 'yearly' subscription, I won't be accepting one for this Tier. This is a test to see who's interested. If there's a lot of interest, maybe I'll make another Tier where people can talk to me privately (we'll see what happens).

All of the other Tiers will be remaining the same, though I am considering another Tier that will involve signed books (depending on whether I hire someone part-time to take care of the endless menial tasks I constantly have to deal with).

Anyway, it's been a pleasure (although the year itself kinda sucked). Let's hope 2021 sucks less.

Keep being Super!

Happy Holidays!

~Aaron

Rampage: Land of the Elementals Audiobook Releasing 10/30!

What's up, Super-People!

I'm so happy to announce that Rampage: Land of the Elementals Book 1 will finally be coming out on audio, tomorrow, October 30th!

The book has been narrated by Soundbooth Theater and will be launching exclusively on their new streaming platform on

Soundbooththeater.com.

I have no idea when, or even if it will be available on Audible, so if you want to listen to the audiobook, I'm afraid this is the only place you'll be able to get it right now.

On the plus side, it's probably going to still be much cheaper than Audible, and while I know trying out new things might not sound so thrilling, if you're a fan of my books, I can assure you that the audio is WELL worth it!

The audiobook is narrated by the amazingly talented Annie Ellicott, featuring Justin Thomas James for most of the male cast. Jeff Hayes has also lent his talents to some of the male voices and we have Dorrie Sacks voicing a particularly nasty elf!

If you're a fan of epic fantasy, cultivation or GameLit, I think this is a series you definitely will not want to miss. Soundbooth Theater is also hard at work narrating Emerald, book 2 in the series, and we should be seeing it out really soon!

Hope you all have an awesome weekend and keep being super!

Emerald: Land of the Elementals Book 2 is Free Tomorrow, August 13th!

What’s up, super people?

I hope you’re excited and on the edge of your seats (or beds, or wherever you’re working from, since, you know, we’re in a pandemic)!

Anyway, Emerald, the second book in the Land of the Elementals series, will be completely free of charge tomorrow, August 13th! Why, do you ask? Has Aaron lost his mind? Is his five-month-long quarantine slowly driving him insane? To which I would reply, well, I didn’t have much social interaction anyway, so I was probably insane all along (but you already knew that). No! The reason why I’m giving the book away is that Emerald has a fantastic new cover, which you can check out here!

So all day tomorrow, August 13th, you can take this book for free. There are no gimmicks here! And as a special bonus, if I give away enough copies, I’ll make Rampage, the first book in the series, free as well! So it’s a win-win situation. You take Emerald for free, and then you get Rampage, too! Maybe this face mask is too tight, or perhaps I’m feeling extraordinarily generous. Still, I think it’s a good idea if you take advantage of this momentary lapse in my sanity.

Also, why don’t you tell all your friends while you’re at it? Everyone loves free stuff. So what are you waiting for?! I expect to see you there at midnight if, like me, you’re entire life revolves around books about made-up people. Now here’s a picture of the new cover in all its glory! Pretty epic!

Hey, why are you still here? Shouldn’t you be refreshing your browser page, waiting for it to go on release? Away with you!

My (lackluster) experience with Royal Road

As a lot of you know, I started writing on Royal Road about a month ago to try and test an upcoming new series. I have a lot to say on the subject, but I'll keep it short and to the point, otherwise, I'll probably go on a rant.

In the few short weeks I've written on that website, I have discovered a new breed of internet troll, one that I didn’t even know existed. Everyone had something to say about your free story, and about 90% of it ain't exactly nice.

Some of the people on that website are so toxic, that I feel society as a whole would be better off without them, but seeing as that's a bit morbid, I propose that internet trolls have their rights to the internet revoked. It'll probably never happen, but hey, who knows...

Anyway, I made one last post this morning, about how I would no longer continue writing there, giving my story away for free, due to the toxic environment. And that I would be releasing a full book in May. If I wasn't convinced before that Royal Road was a cesspool of degenerate, immature, waste-of-life trolls, the immediate flood of negative ratings to an already deleted book decided it for me.

One would think that people who enjoyed the story would have something nice, or perhaps consoling to say, but all I got were a few comments about how I, the author, basically suck.

In short, I would not recommend Royal Road to ANYONE, least of all aspiring authors looking to do market data or gain constructive criticism.

If it were possible, I'd personally gear up, join a party and go burn that troll den to the ground. But seeing as that's not possible, I'll have to content myself with simply trashing it on the internet.

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to give you the good news that the audiobook version of Skyflare is nearly complete! The reviews for Skyflare have been outstanding so far, and currently, it’s my highest rated book! Thank you to all that have left reviews! (If you haven’t, then what are you waiting for?!)

For those of you who have been holding out for the audiobook, I’m sure the wait will be well worth it! with nearly 16 hours of content, it’s by far and away the longest audiobook in the series! The audiobook will hopefully be admitted on Monday, and I hope it will release in mid-August, but with ACX, you never know! Please be on the lookout!

The Sonic-Cerberus Chicken: From Idea to Creation

The Sonic-Cerberus Chicken: From Idea to Creation

I’m very excited to present our second beast feature from Rise to Omniscience. If you weren’t aware, we have an amazing artist, Daniel Simon, who’s been working on character and beast art for RTO. The last time, we covered the creation of the Ice-Bristle Wolf. If you haven’t seen it already, then you can check it out here. Now, please join us as we take a deep dive at the creation of the Sonic-Cerberus Chicken!

The Ice-Bristle Wolf: From idea to creation

The Ice-Bristle Wolf: From idea to creation

So for all of you who have read Supermage, you know that one of the defining challenges for Morgan was his battle with the Ice-Bristle Wolf. The wolf was technically at a rank that Morgan couldn’t possibly hope to beat, yet despite that immense challenge, he persevered and overcame it. In addition to being such a defining moment, the wolf is also among the coolest beasts visually in the series. In the coming months, we’ll be doing a series of posts where we describe the creation of new beasts in the Rise To Omniscience series! The awesome artist behind the artwork is Daniel Simon. His work is really awesome, and you can check out his work on his website, or follow him on Instagram or Twitter. Now join us as we take a deep dive into the Ice-Bristle Wolf’s creation. Enjoy!
