I'm back!

What's Up Super-People!?

After many, many moons, I finally have access to my website and email again. So, if you've tried reaching out to me via the website and haven't heard back, that would be why! I'll be doing my best to respond to all emails sent in the last few months, but I've only got so much time in the day so please be patient with me.

Now, for some updates. Firstly, we tried to launch a Kickstarter for We Hunt Monsters book 1-3. It didn't exactly work out, but not to worry, I'm already working on something else for you collectors out there. We'll have another annoucement once I've finalized all the details.

I also got a concussion in early February which took me out for a solid 10 weeks and this was preceeded by nasty back-to-back viruses. So, suffice-it-to-say that I'm excited to be back at work plugging away at We Hunt Monsters 15.

There will be more updates in the future. I'm going to try and figure out how to use the email list for once so I can send news out in a more orderly manner, since Facebook and Instagram have been hiding my posts from everyone.

Oh and I'm finally adding a shop to the website! It's empty right now, but it won't be for long...

Anyway, that's all the newsing my head can handle for one night, so until I report again. Have an awesome day and keep being Super!

~Aaron

Age of Ancients

What's up Super-People!

I'm very happy to announce the first book in my new series: Shattered Kingdoms, which will be up for pre-order on January 22nd and releasing the 27th.

Age of Ancients takes place in the same world as Rise to Omniscience, only 10,000 years before Morgan's story begins.

You'll recognize the same system that made RTO so great, but with a unique character and more rigid rules on how Energy and stats are assigned.

The story will have a Stone Age feel, with tons of nasty beasties, new villains and a story that Alpha Readers could not put down (not so humble brag 😂).

I'll be sending out Advance Reader Copies on January 18th to anyone who will leave a review on release day. I won't demand that you only leave 5-star reviews (though they are very much preferred and will make me a happy boy) but the ARC copies will be sent out on those terms.

If you participate in the ARC read, you will be credited by name at the back of book (woohoo!) and be forever immortalized.

To anyone who's interested in receiving one, just shoot me an email on my website 😄.

Spreading the word about this new and awesome series will also be much appreciated.

Have an awesome day and keep being super!

2021 Patreon Changes

What's up, Super-People!

As the year comes to a close, I would like to thank each and every one of you for being Patrons and supporting my work. I've thoroughly enjoyed this year, and all of you have only made it better. I've thought about the changes for next year, and I'll be outlining them below.

Firstly, I'll be changing the price of the Beta Tier from $8 to $5 (the same as my eBooks). This way, anyone wishing to support me here instead of Amazon, can get early access to the unedited version of the book. I don't have much time to do artwork anymore, so when the book is released, an edited version will be made available as well to download for all those who are part of the Tier. Everything else will still apply (early access, credit in the books for participating, etc...).

Secondly, I'll be adding another Tier for those wishing to speak with me directly. It's going to be limited to 5 people a month and cost $100. In this Tier, I'll be hosting a 60-minute Zoom call once a month for those who join. Again, it will be limited, and although I can't disable the 'yearly' subscription, I won't be accepting one for this Tier. This is a test to see who's interested. If there's a lot of interest, maybe I'll make another Tier where people can talk to me privately (we'll see what happens).

All of the other Tiers will be remaining the same, though I am considering another Tier that will involve signed books (depending on whether I hire someone part-time to take care of the endless menial tasks I constantly have to deal with).

Anyway, it's been a pleasure (although the year itself kinda sucked). Let's hope 2021 sucks less.

Keep being Super!

Happy Holidays!

~Aaron

Rampage: Land of the Elementals Audiobook Releasing 10/30!

What's up, Super-People!

I'm so happy to announce that Rampage: Land of the Elementals Book 1 will finally be coming out on audio, tomorrow, October 30th!

The book has been narrated by Soundbooth Theater and will be launching exclusively on their new streaming platform on

Soundbooththeater.com.

I have no idea when, or even if it will be available on Audible, so if you want to listen to the audiobook, I'm afraid this is the only place you'll be able to get it right now.

On the plus side, it's probably going to still be much cheaper than Audible, and while I know trying out new things might not sound so thrilling, if you're a fan of my books, I can assure you that the audio is WELL worth it!

The audiobook is narrated by the amazingly talented Annie Ellicott, featuring Justin Thomas James for most of the male cast. Jeff Hayes has also lent his talents to some of the male voices and we have Dorrie Sacks voicing a particularly nasty elf!

If you're a fan of epic fantasy, cultivation or GameLit, I think this is a series you definitely will not want to miss. Soundbooth Theater is also hard at work narrating Emerald, book 2 in the series, and we should be seeing it out really soon!

Hope you all have an awesome weekend and keep being super!

Rise to Omniscience "Box Set" Incoming!

Hey, Super people! I’m thrilled to announce an eBook “box set” of the first five books in my bestselling Rise to Omniscience series. The book is available for pre-order now, and there’s some more great news - during the pre-order, the book will only be $.99! That’s right, 2,000 pages of pulse-pounding action for the price of a bag of chips. You can pre-order the box set here, and it will be available on your e-reader device or app of choice on the 24th of September.

After the pre-order, the price will go up to $9.99, but it’s still cheaper to buy the box set than each book individually. Plus, you’ll have my undying gratitude. I’m calling this set, the “Pinnacle Kings Arc,” and of course you’ll have to read it to figure out why!

I think it would be quite foolish to pass up on this incredible offer, especially during the pre-order. You’re getting 650,000 words for a third of the price of a soda at the mall. Let’s face it; a soda is gone in a few minutes, an hour at most. This much book will surely last you for quite a while. The average person reads between 200 and 250 words per minute, so even if read the books straight, without stopping for food, sleep, or eating, it would take you 48 hours to read it all. (Please note, I highly recommend against this. Sleep is good. So is eating.)

So what are you waiting for? Go pre-order now!

Emerald: Land of the Elementals Book 2 is Free Tomorrow, August 13th!

What’s up, super people?

I hope you’re excited and on the edge of your seats (or beds, or wherever you’re working from, since, you know, we’re in a pandemic)!

Anyway, Emerald, the second book in the Land of the Elementals series, will be completely free of charge tomorrow, August 13th! Why, do you ask? Has Aaron lost his mind? Is his five-month-long quarantine slowly driving him insane? To which I would reply, well, I didn’t have much social interaction anyway, so I was probably insane all along (but you already knew that). No! The reason why I’m giving the book away is that Emerald has a fantastic new cover, which you can check out here!

So all day tomorrow, August 13th, you can take this book for free. There are no gimmicks here! And as a special bonus, if I give away enough copies, I’ll make Rampage, the first book in the series, free as well! So it’s a win-win situation. You take Emerald for free, and then you get Rampage, too! Maybe this face mask is too tight, or perhaps I’m feeling extraordinarily generous. Still, I think it’s a good idea if you take advantage of this momentary lapse in my sanity.

Also, why don’t you tell all your friends while you’re at it? Everyone loves free stuff. So what are you waiting for?! I expect to see you there at midnight if, like me, you’re entire life revolves around books about made-up people. Now here’s a picture of the new cover in all its glory! Pretty epic!

Hey, why are you still here? Shouldn’t you be refreshing your browser page, waiting for it to go on release? Away with you!

One hundred fifty thousand books later, and I have finally reached a point that many creators only dream of: My first Kickstarter project launch! The project will begin running on June 12th, so if you want to contribute, please visit this link here.

I've been a bibliophile my entire life, and the fantasy genre has always held a special place in my heart. I remember every trip to the library or bookstore as a child. The smell, sound, and feeling of walking into one, even to this day, still brings a smile to my face. I can remember being greeted as a child, by row upon row of stunning and colorful books and wondering if mine might be among them one day. The one format that Amazon doesn't offer is hardback books, the type that lasts forever. The ones you can read over and over, without the cover bending and never sitting straight again (you know what I'm talking about)!

Supermage came to me one night as I was lying in bed. I had previously tried - and failed - to self-publish a book, and for about two months, I refused to write. But finally, as the book continued to bounce around in my head, I had to give in and at least try. I saved for three months to have enough money to afford a good cover and editor, and after hundreds of hours of work, Supermage was finally published.

I resonate with the main character, Morgan, very well, as I'm a bit of an outcast and don't have many friends. His story brought me strength and the freedom to pursue a career in writing.

Supermage is an Epic Fantasy GameLit book. That means it is set in a fantasy world, with aspects of a role-playing game incorporated as part of the plot (think Ready Player One, only less futuristic). The plot follows Morgan, a powerless street orphan suffering from memory loss, malnutrition, and poor treatment by the city's guards. His only friend is Sarah, the daughter of the city lord, and when Morgan finally discovers how powerful he truly is, the story really takes off!

As an avid collector of hardback books, it's been my dream to see a book of mine published in that format. So, I turn to you, the fans of fantasy—those who can spend an entire day perusing a genuinely epic novel to help me realize my dream. Thank you for your consideration, and I hope to see this book published soon!

The options available are as follow:

  1. Special Hardcover Edition of Supermage (with dustjacket): $27

  2. Special Hardcover Edition of Supermage (with dustjacket) and Supermage bookmark: $30

There will also be limited and special editions, in limited quantities:

  1. Special-Edition - Signed Hardcover Edition of Supermage (Limit: 100)

  2. Limited-Edition - Signed Hardcover Edition of Supermage and Signed Special-Edition Supermage Bookmark (Limit: 75)

  3. Collector's-Edition - Everything in Limited-Edition package, plus Three 8x10 prints of the Full-Cover Art, Concept Art, and the Ice-Bristle Wolf (Limit: 40)

  4. Superfan-Edition - Everything in Limited-Edition package, plus Three 11x17 posters of the Full-Cover Art, Concept Art, and the Ice-Bristle Wolf (Limit: 20)

  5. Supermage-Edition - Everything in the Collector’s- and Superfan-Editions, plus a Personalized Message on the Cover Art Poster (Limit: 5)

I hope to see you guys there on June 12th! Thank you all for your tremendous support!

My (lackluster) experience with Royal Road

As a lot of you know, I started writing on Royal Road about a month ago to try and test an upcoming new series. I have a lot to say on the subject, but I'll keep it short and to the point, otherwise, I'll probably go on a rant.

In the few short weeks I've written on that website, I have discovered a new breed of internet troll, one that I didn’t even know existed. Everyone had something to say about your free story, and about 90% of it ain't exactly nice.

Some of the people on that website are so toxic, that I feel society as a whole would be better off without them, but seeing as that's a bit morbid, I propose that internet trolls have their rights to the internet revoked. It'll probably never happen, but hey, who knows...

Anyway, I made one last post this morning, about how I would no longer continue writing there, giving my story away for free, due to the toxic environment. And that I would be releasing a full book in May. If I wasn't convinced before that Royal Road was a cesspool of degenerate, immature, waste-of-life trolls, the immediate flood of negative ratings to an already deleted book decided it for me.

One would think that people who enjoyed the story would have something nice, or perhaps consoling to say, but all I got were a few comments about how I, the author, basically suck.

In short, I would not recommend Royal Road to ANYONE, least of all aspiring authors looking to do market data or gain constructive criticism.

If it were possible, I'd personally gear up, join a party and go burn that troll den to the ground. But seeing as that's not possible, I'll have to content myself with simply trashing it on the internet.

Rise to Omniscience 1-3 Book Set available for only 99 cents until Monday!

Hey there, super people!

I can’t believe it’s been over a year since the release of Supermage! In honor of the first anniversary, since I created my first book, I have created a book set of the first three books in the Rise to Omniscience series, Supermage, Starbreak, and Skyflare. You can get it for only 99 cents until Monday, March 9th, at this link here.

Hey there, super people!

In honor of the first anniversary, since I created my first book, I have created a book set of the first three books in the Rise to Omniscience series, Supermage, Starbreak, and Skyflare. You can get it for only 99 cents until Monday, March 9th, at this link here.

Honestly, it’s sinful of me to release this set for such a low price. Like, I should be arrested. Officers, take me away, please. But all kidding aside, this is a fantastic value. It’s over 1100 pages of pulse-pounding thrills and epic adventures for the price of a soda can.

Plus, it lasts forever. Do you know what doesn’t last forever? A can of soda (except for maybe the adverse effects on your heart.)

So much has happened since the release of Supermage. I quit my terrible job to become a full-time author. I’ve released ten books and have plenty more on the way. I have four series’ going right now, and the fan response has been amazing.

Not everything has been positive, but hey, that’s life. All we can do is keep moving forward, learn from the constructive feedback while completely ignoring the trolls.

Regardless, I try not to allow the negativity to have any effect on me so that I can continue producing amazing books for you guys!

So, what are you waiting for?! Go on and click that link, and prepare to lose yourself in an epic adventure!

P.S. If you enjoy my work, please leave a review. You have no idea how much it helps.

The second book continues following the adventures of our protagonist, Roy, and his friend and accomplice, Aika. Powerful forces are gathering on the continent of Buryoku, which is never kind to the weak. Faced with this impending doom, Roy will have to make a monumentally difficult choice.

And for all you audiophiles out there, there is further good news. Audio recording will begin next week for Light, and the release of the audiobook can be expected in either late February or in early March. The recording will be done by the uber talented Mare Trevathan, who also did work on Power.

Rampage - New Book Announcement!

I’m incredibly excited to reveal the first book in my brand new series, “Land of the Elementals!” The name of the first book is “Rampage”, and I’m sure that it will prove to be an exciting and thrilling read!

I’m incredibly excited to reveal the first book in my brand new series, “Land of the Elementals!” The name of the first book is “Rampage”, and I’m sure that it will prove to be an exciting and thrilling read!

Rampage is a truly enormous book, and is nearly a year in the making! The total word count for Rampage is over 158,000 words (around 470 pages!), which is a truly staggering number, especially when you take into account that most first books in a series rarely go above 100,000 words.

It has really been a wild ride since I started working on this book. I’ve released five other books in the interim, and finally, this one is nearly releasing! Writing a book of this scope and magnitude was really difficult at times, but the final product is really amazing, and I’m so happy that I stuck with it until I saw it completed.

Rampage is an epic fantasy book, along the lines of “The Wheel of Time” by Robert Jordan, and “The Stormlight Archives” by Brandon Sanderson. If you want to read more about what makes something Epic Fantasy, you can check out this great article on Fantasy-Faction. The shortened version is this: Epic Fantasy takes place in world other than our own. Pretty obvious. Also, they’re long.

In Rampage, you’ll travel along with our protagonist, Arbor, who has his entire world turned upside down in one night. Fate often has a cruel way of bending us to its will, and Arbor learns this in the harshest way possible. However, he isn’t willing to take such a beating sitting down and ventures out into a dangerous world to exact his revenge.

You’ll get to meet a variety of super cool races in this book! In addition to humans, there are elves, dwarves, gremlins, and salamanders. (There might also be some others, but I won’t be spoiling anything now.) Each of the races all have unique histories and ways of living, which go far beyond their mere physical appearances.

Also, can we talk about how amazing this cover art is?! The insanely talented people over at MiblArt have really outdone themselves! I love the way that Arbor and Grak (who’s a gremlin, by the way) look, and the cover overall is super cool and atmospheric.

In fact, it’s so good, that if the book is successful, I might just print out some hardcover copies and do some signed giveaways. So it’s really in your best interests to make this book do well!

“Rampage: Land of the Elementals Book 1” releases on September 26th, so make sure to mark your calendars.

As always, if you enjoy my work, please like, comment, and share with your friends!

Now here’s a look at the cover in all its glory!

Power: Buryoku Book 1 released today at midnight! Sales are going strong so far, about as much as I expected from any new series! If you haven’t already snagged your copy, then what are you waiting for?! You can get a copy of Power, here.

I even got my first review, and it’s a glowing recommendation!

Work on the audiobook is nearly complete, and the link to purchase it should be up sometime this week.

As a new series is now releasing, I wanted to take the time to thank you, my readers.

Only a few months ago, I was working a dead end job that I hated with a passion.

The first book I released was a commercial failure, and the future for me looked pretty bleak. (Maybe not as bad as it seemed for Roy, but bad nonetheless.)

Cut to now, and I’ve already released five books, and have gained a loyal and amazing fanbase.

I was able to quit the job I hated, and now get to spend my days doing what I love: Writing.

But without you guys, none of this would be possible. After all, you could have the best books in the world, but if no one buys and reads them, then it’s kind of pointless.

So thank you for being such a loyal and amazing fanbase!

You know where to find me if you wanna reach out.

Keep on being super!

Here’s an amazing picture of Roy, the main character in Buryoku, done by the talented Lukasz Poduch!

Book Cover Announcement! Power: Buryoku Book 1

Hey everyone! I’m incredibly excited to present to you the book cover for Power: Buryoku Book 1!

Buryoku is a brand new series of Martial Arts inspired fantasy books, and “Power”, the first book in the series, will be releasing on August 29th! The pre-order link should be up early next week, so stay tuned!

You’ll be introduced to Roy, a person who has very little, and is treated horrendously by those around him. In Buryoku, Martial Artists cultivate the essence in the world around them to perform incredible feats, beyond your wildest dreams.

However, Roy does not have the Power needed to cultivate the essence around him. Coupled with the fact that he was adopted into the clan, it makes for a miserable existence for him. Not only is he seen as a freak and an outsider, but the members of his adoptive clan never let him forget what he is.

But, one day, Roy is given a once-in-a-lifetime chance that will change his life forever. You’ll just have to read the book in order to find out what happens!

The cover for the book details one of the most important and pivotal scenes in the entire book, but I won’t be giving anything away here.

Richard Sashigane, my amazing cover artist, really worked hard to bring the world of Buryoku to life. Everything, from the atmosphere, to the Asian lettering and architecture really brings a sense of realness to the world.

I really hope that you guys enjoy this new series! It has definitely been a blast writing it, and the response so far from the beta readers has been incredible, with them praising the world, the story, and the characters!

Have an amazing day! Remember to mark your calendars for August 29th!

As always, if you liked this post, please like, leave a comment, and share it with your friends!

New Web Series! Pal-Tee Planet

Hey everyone! I’m incredibly excited to announce a new series of short stories that I’ve been working on, with my good friend Nathan Chesterson!

The name of the series is “Pal-Tee Planet” which is a humorous series of fantasy short stories, that will live exclusively on the web.

Hey everyone! I’m incredibly excited to announce a new series of short stories that I’ve been working on, with my good friend Nathan Chesterson!

The name of the series is “Pal-Tee Planet” which is a humorous series of fantasy short stories, that will live exclusively on the web.

In the series, you’ll get to meet many interesting and quirky characters, including Zundel, who will be the star of the first short story!

I’ve had the ideas for these characters for a while, but I could never find a way to fit them properly into my books. However, I had so many great ideas, and I was loathe to let them go, so I figured I would make them into their own series!

I’m also incredibly excited to be working with Nathan, who’s a close friend of mine, and who has also given me so many ideas for this series!

I’m not entirely sure yet when the first story will be done, so stay tuned for that announcement. When it does release, it will only be available to read on the website and also on my Patreon. I’m really hoping that you will enjoy the series!

Have an awesome weekend! Also, don’t forget that “Power: Buryoku Book 1” will be releasing on August 29th, so mark your calendars!

As always, if you enjoyed, please leave a like, comment, and share with your friends!

The Sonic-Cerberus Chicken: From Idea to Creation

I’m very excited to present our second beast feature from Rise to Omniscience. If you weren’t aware, we have an amazing artist, Daniel Simon, who’s been working on character and beast art for RTO. The last time, we covered the creation of the Ice-Bristle Wolf. If you haven’t seen it already, then you can check it out here. Now, please join us as we take a deep dive at the creation of the Sonic-Cerberus Chicken!

Some of you may remember the Sonic-Cerberus Chicken from Starbreak, as it was the first creature that Morgan got to try his signature “Starbreak” move on. It's a chicken approximately 7 feet tall, with three heads. Each head is a different color, and that color carries down the rest of its body, giving it a three-toned appearance. The left head is black, the middle one is light tan and the left head is deep red. It's feet are bright yellow and have a set of wickedly curved claws. It also has a smattering of scales throughout it's feathers, and they extend in a line from their crests to their beaks, providing a sort of crude armor for their heads.

As you can imagine, there is zero reference for a three-headed chicken in the real world, so it’s in cases like this where an artist really has to use to their imagination and creative vision. Daniel started off with a preliminary sketch that looked like this:

Even the preliminary sketch for this beast took a bit of time, as figuring out the positioning of the heads, as well as the effect it would have on the proportions of the body, was quite time-consuming. After this sketch was made, Daniel changed up the pose a bit, to make it look more sinister and aggressive.

I really liked the positioning of the heads in this one, it gave the chicken an almost prehistoric vibe. It sort of reminded me of a dinosaur. (Which is accurate as modern birds are their closest relatives.)

Once we settled on this pose, the lines were drawn on more finely, and the line-work of the chicken became more prominent.

After the lines were completed, Daniel moved on to coloring. He had to play around a bit with different variations of color to get one that looked the best.

Daniel and I decided that although we did like this look, it would look better if there was some variations in the color of the wings. It would provide some much needed contrast.

By changing up the colors of the feathers, it gave it a more natural, chicken-like look. After we settled on this pattern, Daniel made a background, and added some finer details and shading work.

As you can see, Daniel colored in the scales, as well as adding some more shadows and texture.

He then added highlights and shadows to the scales of the chicken. He also played around with the coloring of the wings, so one color bled into the next, to give it as much of a natural look as he could.

The coloring was nearly complete but Daniel decided to change the color of the underside of the left wing from red to yellow. This was done to provide more contrast, as the leftmost head was blending into the wing too much and was becoming lost.

After this change was made, Daniel sent us the final version of the Sonic-Cerberus Chicken!

In this final piece, Daniel changed up the color of the eyes, added some effects, and tightened up the lines and colors.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this weeks deep dive look into the creation of the Sonic-Cerberus Chicken! Please stay tuned for the next one! If you enjoyed this post, please leave a like, comment, and share with your friends!

Hey everyone! I’m super excited to announce that Power: Buryoku Book 1 is currently in the editing stage!

Buryoku is a departure from Rise to Omniscience, my previous series in several ways. Buryoku is a fantasy, cultivation series, and it’s going to be truly awesome!

In it, you’ll travel along with the protagonist, Roy, as he embarks on a fantastic journey. Along the way, he’ll encounter many fantastical beasts and hilarious characters, as he tries his best to amass the power he needs to survive in his world.

I sent the book out to some beta readers and the response has been tremendous, with many of them praising the character development, magic system, and world building.

In this post, you’ll also see a picture of Aika, one of the main characters, whose role has yet to be revealed! There’s also artwork of Roy on the way, so stay tuned for that as well!

Look out for Power: Buryoku Book 1 when it launches in September! I hope to have a concrete release date soon!

If you enjoyed this post, please leave a comment and a like, and feel free to share it with anyone else you think might enjoy it! Keep on being super!

Best,

Aaron
